Portland- Branden Todd Perreault, 38, of Dresden, passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2025, due to an aortic rupture. Born on April 17, 1987, to Kimberly (Cousins) Perreault and Stephen Perreault, Branden was a radiant soul from the very beginning, a child with a beautiful smile and a heart that truly loved everyone he met.
Branden most recently served as the Town of Brunswick Finance Director, a role he held with deep pride and gratitude. He adored his Brunswick family, colleagues who became cherished friends, and often spoke of the honor it was to work alongside such dedicated and compassionate people. His commitment to public service was matched only by the joy he found in collaboration, and he brought warmth, humor, and integrity to every meeting, every project, and every shared moment. His presence in the Brunswick community was a gift, and he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, excellence, and genuine connection.
Branden poured his heart into Branden's Books and The Animal House pet supply stores, where his passion for people and animals shone brightly. Through these ventures, he built more than businesses, he built relationships. He loved his clients and employees deeply and treated every interaction as an opportunity to uplift, educate, and connect. His businesses were reflections of his spirit: welcoming, thoughtful, and full of joy. Customers became friends, and friends became family, all drawn in by the kindness and inspiration he offered so freely.
Branden found pure joy and freedom at the lake; his happy place, his sanctuary, his playground. Whether he was flying across the water on his Sea-Doo or tearing down trails on his four-wheeler, he embraced every moment with laughter and full-throttle enthusiasm. The lake was where Branden's spirit came alive, where his smile stretched widest, and where his most cherished and humorous memories were made.
He adored his Dobsis family, the tight-knit crew who shared in his wild adventures and late-night storytelling.
Branden and Will were in the process of building a cabin there, lovingly named Cihpolakoni Wossos, "The Eagles Nest." It is so much more than a structure; it was a dream of belonging, a future gathering place where laughter would echo and hearts would feel at home. He envisioned it as a haven for family and friends, a place where stories would be shared around the fire and joy would be passed down through generations. The lake held his heart, and it will forever hold the echoes of his laughter, his love, and the magic he brought to every moment spent there.
Branden was predeceased by his cherished grandmothers, Marilyn Cousins and Ercil Perreault, both of whom he deeply admired. He is survived by his loving husband, William Perreault-Paul and the sweetest fur-babies; his devoted parents, Kimberly and Stephen; his brother, Matt Perreault; and his adored nephew, Hayden Perreault. He is also survived by a large and loving in-law family who embraced him long before marriage made them official, and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives were forever changed by his presence.
Branden's legacy is one of joy, generosity, and boundless love. He leaves behind aching hearts and treasured memories in all who had the blessing of knowing him.
In honor of Branden's wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment to hug your loved ones and tell them you love them, deeply and often.
