It is with broken hearts, but abiding faith, that we sadly announce the passing of Brandon Bruer. Brandon was born on November 7, 1988 to John and Louella Bruer, in Ruidoso, NM and entered into eternal rest on May 8, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas.
Brandon was a proud member of the Mescalero Apache Tribe. He had the distinction of being full blooded Apache. Brandon was father to his daughter, Carmen Serenity and surrogate father to his niece, Olivia. Brandon graduated from Academy Del Sol in 2008. He was a proud member of the Tiger Marching Band, where he played the saxophone Brandon loved working outdoors and was a roofer and landscaper. Prior to that, he was maintenance man for Karrousal Child Development Center and Alamogordo Pre-K Academy for many years. Brandon was a compassionate person with a sweet heart and a gentle soul. He loved being with family and friends; especially his daughter, nieces and nephew. He loved picnics and playing football with them.
Brandon is survived by: daughter Carmen, long time companion Amy Albright and her children Necalo, Celina, Jasmine, Dayton and Miguel. Survivors also include his birth mother, Louella and adoptive mother, Mary Bruer, sister and brother-in-law Kristin and Roman Charvea and their children, Lucien and Evelyn, as well as niece, Olivia. He is also survived by uncle and aunt, Kevin and Shelley Bruer, grandmother, Geraldine Smith and honorary grandmother, Verna Styck, many additional aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. His loss will be deeply felt by many.
Brandon was preceded in death by grandparents Arlynn and Jeanne Bruer and Roy and Irma Balatche, father, John Bruer, brother, Justin, grandmother, Josephine Smith, grandfather, Samuel Smith and mother-in-law, Suzanne Albright. Pallbearers will be Aaron Black, Vincent Telles, Roman Charvea, Tyler Ruiz, Fabian Chavez, Necalo Kaydahzinie, Chewy Lopez, Ramon Garcia, and Joseph Felmet.
Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Alamogordo. Visitation and viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday, May 16th, at 8:00 AM at the LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Ruidoso. Graveside services will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Mescalero Cemetery in Mescalero.
