Braylen Cash Ezell, only 17 years old, was taken from us far too soon. He passed away early Saturday morning, September 13, 2025, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in
Houston, Texas. Braylen was always true and authentic to himself, there is no one else like him. He was such a go-getter, and those who were blessed to know Braylen knew he was such a fun, joyful person. He meant everything to our family and motivated us all. He was so strong, ambitious, adventurous, loyal, protective, and the glue to our family. Braylen was a huge sports fan, he played football in school and basketball nearly everyday in the front yard with his friends. He was an all out Houstonian, loving the Astros, Rockets, Texans, and enjoyed spending time with his family watching and attending games. He was a young man of many interests and hobbies, collecting sports memorabilia, baseball & Pokémon cards, knickknacks and posters. His middle name was Cash for a reason, he loved money, and he knew how to spend it. He enjoyed festivals, family and friend gatherings, being around people and making plans. He enjoyed bringing different friends along and showing them new places to explore. Growing up, Braylen was always a character - literally wearing superhero costumes year round- leaving a lasting memory on anyone he met. He could make anyone laugh, crack a smile, and brighten up any mood. From his goofy smile to his contagious laugh, he was the light in our lives. He was always content just being around people, gossiping with his mom, or watching a game with his dad, he was always happy. Braylen was a senior at Langham Creek High School, looking forward to his 18th birthday and graduation shortly after. He dreamed of spending a year in Japan with his friends Hisham and Jaden. He was ready to see the world and had so much ahead of him. From elementary school through high-school Braylen left a lasting impression on his peers and educators. Even when his shenanigans resulted in a call to Mama B. Braylen made us all so proud, as the saying goes, it takes a village so thank you to everyone and all the experiences that turned him into a wonderful young man. There are endless stories to share about Braylen, and anyone who knew him would be happy to tell you about the joy he brought into their lives. To know Braylen is to know love and light. His memory will live on forever. Braylen is survived by his father, Roger Brent Ezell; his mother, Larissa Nicole Espinoza; his sister, Jayla Seree Ezell; and his brother, Ryder Brent Ezell. On his mother's side, he is survived by his grandfather, Popo Richard Sanchez Espinoza, and grandmother, Mema Anna Marie Garza Espinoza. On his father's side, he is survived by his grandfather, Edward Leva, and grandmother, Janie Marie Leva. He is also remembered with love by countless uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
