It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Marlene Bacon. Brenda departed on September 18, 2024, in Denver, CO, peacefully, and surrounded by her loved ones. Brenda was a kind, loyal and generous woman, she accepted Jesus into her heart and expressed his love through action daily.
Brenda was born in Dallas, TX., July 20, 1963, the youngest of four children. Brenda was a spirited tomboy with a zest for life and outdoor adventure including playing sports or riding dirt bikes with her parents, two sisters and brother. At a young age, Brenda's father, Charles Wilson, was in the Navy and moved the family to different locations throughout the U.S. until finally being based in Aurora, CO. Brenda continued to live in Aurora, where she thrived as a wife, mother and grandmother until her passing.
Brenda spent many years raising her daughters as a stay-at-home mom. When the girls started elementary school, Brenda went with them, first, volunteering in their school library until she was hired as a Library Specialist. Brenda worked at Cherry Creek School District for over thirty-years, taking on different roles. This is where she met her second husband and best friend for over twenty years, Russell Witzke and some of her lifelong friends.
To know Brenda was to love Brenda, she smiled and laughed every day, she loved the thrill of jumping out from a hiding place and scaring her unsuspecting coworkers, friends, and family. She made us laugh about anything and nothing until we were crying from laughter. Brenda was passionate about reading, puzzles, playing games, going camping and being outdoors, cooking and trying new recipes, and most of all she loved animals, especially wolves.
She made us laugh, she cried with us, and she celebrated our wins. To our Momma, wife, grandma, sister, friend, best darn scarer, we love and miss you dearly, you will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Brenda was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Charles and Glenda Wilson, Father, Clyde Fletcher, Father In-Law, Richard R.
