Brenda Cesnik Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel - Monrovia on Dec. 29, 2024.
Brenda Jo (Lumpkin) Cesnik, 77, of Mooresville, passed from this life and entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, December 22, 2024. She was born in Martinsville on September 20, 1947, the oldest daughter to Raymond and Thelma (Marley) Lumpkin.
Raised in Monrovia, Brenda was a proud graduate from Monrovia High School with the class of 1965. At the age of 19, she married her classmate Steven Bloomfield and from that union she became the proud mother of Stephanie and Marcy. She secured employment with American States Insurance Company, starting off as a typist then went on to become a pioneer of the computer world training people to run mainstream computers. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association and traveled the states passing on her deep knowledge of computers.
Introduced to the love of her life in 1993, Roger Cesnik, it was love at first sight and the pair were married the following year. They were quite a couple and were truly fun loving and remained inseparable until his passing in 2023.
Extremely strong in faith Brenda held the bible close to her heart and quoted scripture regularly. She was creative by nature and enjoyed reading and writing poetry. In her younger years, she was quite the dancer and often hummed out the tunes that played in her mind. Gardening and home decor were a must, and she liked to hike in Brown County State Park along with attending the Covered Bridge Festival. Brenda was a self-made woman who craved knowledge and was highly self-educated. Her superpower was her tendency to be passive aggressive and give you the stink eye when you were out of line and often asked what would Jesus do. With expensive taste embedded in her being, she enjoyed the finer things in life. Soft spoken, she was a private person who was passionate, loyal, strong-willed, always knew the right thing to say, and remained the voice of reason. She will be forever missed and remembered for the sweetness she brought to the world.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcy Jones; her soulmate, Roger Cesknik; brother-in-law, Perry Cravens; sister-in-law, Jennifer Lumpkin; mother and father-in-law, Jewel Mae and Louis Cesnik.
Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Parks (husband, Robert, Jr.) of Greenwood; siblings, Constance "Connie" Cravens of Camby, Tony Lumpkin of Mooresville, Tracy Lumpkin (wife, Marti) of Mooresville; son-in-law, Timmy Carter of Danville; step-daughter, Tonya Cesnik of Rockport; former husband, Steven Bloomfield (wife, Deborah) of Franklin; beloved grandchildren, Charles Heiss (wife, Alicia) of Danville, Robert Parks III and Christian Parks both of Greenwood, along with Victoria Parks (companion, Joshua) of Muncie.
