Brenda Sue Deese, 84, of Concord, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

Brenda was born October 13, 1941, in Concord, North Carolina to the late Samuel Gray and the late Margaret Gray. She was also preceded in death by her late husband Jacob Raymond Deese Sr and her son Randy Lynn Thomason.

During her working years she went from Factory work to Custodial walking the halls in her famous pink lipstick loving on all those children, retiring with the Cabarrus County School System. Her life was spent raising her children and loving her family, strangers included, because she loved them too. Every Friday you could expect her to pull into the hair salon for her weekly appointment. Her hobbies included spending summers down at Carolina beach with the family at Ma Maria’s place. Christmas’ cooking up meals large enough to feed an army. Sundays spent at church where she acted as the bookkeeper for many years and sang in the choir. Later in her life you could still find this God-Fearing lady at many church events, Sunday’s seeing her pastor, or going to local gospel singings around the area. Anytime you would walk into her home you could expect to find Jimmy Swagart on the tv if not that it was the Gather’s singing.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Harrisburg Baptist Church. The Funeral service will be on Thursday at 12:00 pm at Harrisburg Baptist Church in Harrisburg officiated by Pastor Billy Clevenger. Burial will immediately follow at the Harrisburg Baptist Church at 6525 Morehead Rd, Harrisburg.

Survivors include sister, Patricia Upright, son, Jeffrey Thomason spouse Cindy Thomason, daughter, Sheila Crites, daughter, Debra Mullis, son, Derrick Thomason spouse Beth Thomason, son, David Thomason, and many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her.
