Brenda Helen Dodson passed away in her home on December 19th, 2022 in the arms of her loving husband, Jim Dodson, of 62 years.
Brenda was born on September 29, 1946 in Celina, Tennessee where she was the only daughter of Johnny and Martha Ava (Avo) Pointdexter a family of 7 having 4 brothers, Harold, Jim, Gary and Jeff.
Young in Brenda's life, she fell in love with her husband, Jim, in Indianapolis where they married January 10th, 1961. Jim worked nights at Allison Transmission and they have 2 children.
Brenda was a loving mother and grandmother of 3 grandchildren. She loves nothing more than to be making anything your heart desires in the kitchen. She will be remembered for always filling up your belly and heart. Brenda proudly lived as an amazing home maker, unconditionally loving you. Everyone that knew or met Brenda felt her loving heart and caring spirit even while she was ill. She was a blessing to us all!
We are all thankful she is at a much deserved peace after several illnesses, hospital scares, months at the Restoracy and terminal leukemia the past several years without a complaint but many hours of suffering.
Brenda is survived by her husband Jim and children, Joe (Chantelle) Dodson, Zionsville, IN and Julie (Brian) Solomon, Whitestown, IN and grandchildren, Bailee, Reed and Maci Dodson.
Brenda requested to be cremated and our family is grateful for Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care of Zionsville that we were able to say our final goodbyes to our loving wife, mother and friend, as she looked so at peace. She requested for there to be no service but a celebration of life at a later date.
