Brenda Jean Davis Jones was born on January 9, 1951 in Thomasville, North Carolina to the late Lafayette Davis, Sr. and Jennie Reece Davis. On Monday, January 20, 2025, in the early hours at her home; Our Lord and Savior whispered into Brenda's ear, "Welcome home, come and I will give you eternal rest".
Brenda attended Davidson County school system, delayed but determined she returned back to Thomasville High School to receive her diploma. She also attended Davidson Community College to pursue a degree in nursing. She worked her entire life with a various of employers: Thomasville Furniture Industry, Davidson Laundry, Hardees, Security Bank, Rhonda's Daycare and Adult Homecare for over 40 years.
Spiritual planted in her faith, Brenda was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church. She loved hearing and singing the gospel. "Aunt Jean" or "Shorty" as she was affectionately known, loved to say what she had to say; she stood firmly on her word! She had a talent on making people laugh, and tell you about yourself at the same time. As an expression of love she gave everyone she knew a nickname. Brenda was a loving, giving and caring person. She loved checking up on people. She will be dearly missed.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Lafayette Davis, Sr. and Jennie Reece Davis, grandmother, Alice Myreece Clark, her husband, Ulysses Jones, siblings, Helen Reese, Lafayette Davis, Jr., Melvin Davis, Sr. Alice Faye Davis, Hilda Mae Sanders, and god-son Gary Gannaway.
Left to cherish her memories is her one and only daughter, Angela (Tim) Moore of Lexington, NC, three grandchildren, Darranique (Megan) Moore, Cordara Moore, Kierra (Phillip) Conyer; two great grandsons, Shamon (ZaMaria) Smith and Darranique Moore Jr., one great great-granddaughter, Ka'Lani Wilson; four step-children; Mark (Cindy) Jones, Ulissa (Joe) Jones, Roxanne Winston, Warren Winston ; five siblings, and Evon Gail (Larry) Davis, two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Bertha Mae Jones, Peggy Anderson; one brother-in-law, Joe Nathan Jones; a goddaughter, Cassandra Denise Gannaway; a god granddaughter, Miracle Gannaway; dear friend, Henry Moore; four special nieces, Teresa Sanders and Carol Carpenter, Jennie Davis, Carolyn Southerland and children; special nephew, Melvin Davis, Jr.; dear friends, Ms. Emma Hogan, Ms. Debbie Douglas, Ms. Frances Leak, Ms. Opheia Moss, Ms. Mary Lee Alford, Ms. Carolyn Whiteside, Mrs. Louise Gaither and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends. She loved her whole family
