Brenda Lee Porter, 61 of Baltimore, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2022, surrounded by family and dear friends. Brenda had many disabilities and medical issues but endured them all with a joyful heart and cheery disposition. Her spicy and cheerful characteristics brought smiles to everyone who encountered her. Brenda loved having company, eating a Frosty from Wendy's and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes play football. Brenda's contagious laughter will be sorely missed.
Thank you to all the amazing people that have sewed into Brenda's life, you have helped make Brenda who she was. The care you gave our sweet girl was truly Heaven sent. Brenda was blessed to have had a wonderful "Caregiver Team" at REM OHIO, The REM Opportunities Center, Fairfield Industries, MRDD Board and staff, and Forest Rose for many years of love and attention given to her until her death. God truly blessed her with these wonderful people that cared for and showed her love from beginning to end.
Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Joe Porter Jr; grandparents, Myrtle Ruth and Joe Porter Sr, Ada (Jules) DeHaven, and Reid Carsey; uncles, Jim Porter, Don, Bob, and Bill Carsey; nephew, Malachi Kistler; and cousins, Jeremiah Gonzalez and Alan (Heidi) Smith.
Brenda is survived by her mother, June (Eugene) Songer; step-mother, Connie (Bill) Mills; sisters, Susan Jo (Philip) Mott, Shyna (Marc) Gawell, Shaleena Shields; brother, Shad (Mia) Kistler; uncle, Jerry (Anita) Porter; aunts, Betty (Jim) Smith, Ruth (George) Boll, Susan Porter, and Mary (David) Anderson; nieces and nephews, Jacob, Lindsay, Ethan, Greg, Gena, Trinity, Majesty, Hezekiah, Kierstin, Calista, Aydin, Draven, Kegan, and Skylar.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda with Rev. Bruce Hines officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
