Brenda Kay Wilcox

Brenda Kay Wilcox of Perry, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on October 17, 1952, in McRae, Georgia, Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late Mark and Hazel Wilcox (Williams) of Jacksonville, Georgia. A proud graduate of Telfair County High School, Class of 1970, Brenda pursued her calling to care for others by attending nursing school at Georgia Southwestern College, where she graduated in 1972. She went on to have a long and fulfilling career as a nurse, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to her patients and their families. Her compassionate nature and gentle spirit made her a blessing to all who were cared for by her. Brenda was a woman of many passions. She found great joy in gardening and had a special love for flowers. She enjoyed working with crewel embroidery, spending time outdoors, and embracing nature through fishing and hiking. A devoted student and teacher of the Bible, Brenda was often found studying scripture and taking notes to deepen her understanding. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lovingly shared her knowledge and love for the Lord with others. Brenda was known for her fierce loyalty to the Tennessee Volunteers-except when they played the Georgia Bulldogs, when her Georgia roots always showed. Her sense of humor, kindness, and unwavering faith touched everyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Hazel Wilcox. Left to cherish her memory are her dear friend, Gracie Robinson; her brother, Mark Wilcox; two nieces; her loving aunt, Runette Broom; and many cousins and extended family members who loved her dearly. A celebration of Brenda's life will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church Haynesville with Pastor Tom Schuj officiating.
