Brenden D. Hafner, age 42, passed away on August 5, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital in the loving arms of his mother and sister. He was born on November 18, 1982 in Madison, the beloved son of Kathleen (Schroud) Hafner and the late David L. Hafner.
Brenden graduated from Poynette High School in 2001 and dedicated his life to his family’s business, Hooker’s Resort. From the moment he could, Brenden was a central part of the resort’s day-to-day operations.
Brenden had a deep need for adventure and a love of living life to the fullest. He raced motorcycles for several years, chasing speed and competition. In the winter, he looked forward to snowmobiling up north with friends, and in the warmer months, nothing made him happier than taking friends and family out on his pontoon on the Wisconsin River.
Known for his warm smile, goofy laugh, easygoing nature, Brenden had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Brenden was his mother’s rock, providing steadfast support in both work and life.
Brenden is survived by mother Kathleen; his sister Michelle Georgi (Waupaca); niece Brianna (Kaltenberg) and Kyle Windisch (Waupaca); nephews Ricky and Cody Hebel (Waupaca) and many aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
A celebration of Brenden’s life will be held at Hooker’s Resort on August 24, 2025 at 2 pm.
