In Loving Memory of Brent Bledsoe

Brent Bledsoe, affectionately known as “Smiley”, “Bada**,” or “Papa Brent” passed away on the morning of September 10, 2025, at the age of 61, surrounded by his beloved family.

Born on December 16, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, Brent grew up with a love for adventure, laughter, and connection that carried through every part of his life. He made his home in Stephenville, Texas, where he built both a thriving business and a beautiful life filled with love, family, and friends.

For 36 years, Brent owned and operated A to Z Plumbing, pouring his heart, dedication, and skill into every job. More than a business, it was a reflection of his character: dependable, hardworking, and trustworthy.

One of the greatest joys of Brent’s life was the time he spent with his children, Brianna and Branndon, especially when it came to sports. From basketball in the backyard, cheering on their favorite teams together, weekends spent at tournaments, and countless hours of coaching from the sidelines, he was always there: encouraging, oftentimes yelling, teaching, laughing, and celebrating every moment. Being their dad, mentor, and biggest supporter was one of his proudest and happiest accomplishments.

He shared a deep and unwavering love with his wife, Marcella, who was not only his partner in life but also his greatest companion in every adventure. Together, they created a lifetime of memories through their travels, countless camping trips, and their cherished tradition of attending the Rhymes and Vines music festival each year. Their bond was rooted in laughter, joy, and a shared sense of wonder for the world around them.

Brent had a love of all things competition. Whether it was a family dart game on the back porch or a high-stakes dice game at the casino with his friends, he always played to win. He always did it with a little mischief, a big grin, and a spirit that made everyone around him laugh and want to join in.

Brent was also a man of many passions. He loved traveling and sought out adventure whenever he could. At home, he was never far from the action—if a game was on, you could bet the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, or Dallas Cowboys were playing on his TV. He was an avid collector, treasuring the stories and memories behind the things he gathered. Beyond his adventurous spirit, nothing brought him greater happiness than time spent with family and close friends, where love, stories, and laughter were always at the center.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Carol Ann Bledsoe, and his brother, Quinn Bledsoe. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marcella Bledsoe; daughter, Brianna and husband Clayton Bertrand, son Branndon and wife Bayleigh Bledsoe; step-children, Zach and Taylor Lowe; his grandchildren, Rory, Ellie, and Scott Lowe; his sister-in-law, Natalie Bledsoe; his nieces and nephews, Rachael Hunt, Tyler Jones, Zach Jones, Emily Faoro and Caroline Bledsoe. Each of them carries forward his laughter, love, and strength.

A memorial service honoring Brent’s life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cowboy Church in Stephenville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Brent’s memory by making a donation to Foster’s Home for Children in Stephenville or by bringing joy to a child through the Angel Tree Program during the Christmas holiday: two causes that were especially close to his heart.

Brent’s laughter, love, and larger-than-life spirit will forever live on in those who knew him and though he loved his family and friends deeply, we will always love him even more, 1000%.
