Brett Persson

Brett Neil Persson, age 50, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026. He was born on September 2, 1975, in Provo, Utah, to Lee Collings and Neil Persson.

Brett grew up with a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was fishing, hunting, or camping, he felt most at home surrounded by nature. He had a great appreciation for food, both eating it and making it! He was especially known for his incredible cooking and baking talents. His cheesecakes became a cherished family favorite, and he took joy in sharing them with those he loved.

A master plumber by trade, Brett was highly skilled and took pride in his craftsmanship. His many talents extended far beyond his work; he was always ready to lend a hand, fix what needed fixing, and offer support wherever he was needed. Brett had a big heart, and his generous spirit left an impression on everyone around him.

Brett married Nicole Lee, and together they welcomed their three children-Brayden, Kylie, and Ashley-whom Brett loved more than anything in this world. Though Brett and Nicole later divorced, they remained close friends.

Animals held a special place in Brett's heart. He especially adored his beloved cat, Oliver, who preceded him in death and was never far from his thoughts.

Brett was also preceded in death by his mother, Lee Collings Persson.

He is survived by his father, Neil (Eva) Persson; his children Brayden, Kylie (Kevin), and Ashley; his siblings, Lisa (Paul), Shawna (Derrick), Paul, Joel (Jamie), Lana (Patrick), Ryan (Natalie), and Michael (Erica); and his former spouse, Nicole (Shane) Campbell. Brett loved his family deeply, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Brett's legacy is one of kindness, loyalty, and wholehearted love. His laughter, his generosity, and the way he showed up for others will be remembered always.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 at 12:30 PM in the Orem City Cemetery. Family and friends may attend a viewing before the service at the Olpin Family Mortuary from from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
