Brett A. Smith, 64, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Brett was a retired journeyman and machine repairman from Bosch. His life hobbies included playing the drums, riding his Harley, golfing, fishing and sports fandom. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. Brett spent time serving as a volunteer EMT/firefighter for Hagar Fire Department. He had endless qualities, however, the one that stands out the most was his Christian faith.
Surviving are his three children, Danea Smith, Joshua (Ashley) Smith and Bradley (Natasha) Smith; the mother of his children, Linda Smith; one sister, Rhonda Jo Smith; two brothers, Bruce (April) Smith and Richard (Brenda) Smith; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Smith; his father, Ronald Elmer Smith; his mother, Peggy Jo Stutzman; his stepfather, Kenneth Stutzman; and one sister, Candice Zavoral.
The family will host a celebration of life at a later date in Michigan.

I was heartbroken to hear about the passing of Brett. During this sad time, I pray that our Lord brings you and your family much-needed peace and comfort. Brett was a hardworking person who truly loved to have fun at work. His ability to put a smile on our faces, even during long hours, will always be cherished.
I fondly remember the great days and nights we shared while working at the Robert Bosch foundry in St. Joseph, Michigan. His memory will always remain in our hearts.
My deepest condolences to you and your family.
With Sympathy,
Andre Holmes
