Brian Brittingham
Age 60 of Elsmere
Passed away Suddenly from Heart Failure, on Friday, December 13, 2024.
Brian was born and raised in Elsmere, Delaware. He was a proud graduate of Delcastle High School. Upon graduation he went to work with his father at Bancroft and Sons Finishing Co. before beginning his career at Chrysler. He was a dedicated employee for many years until an injury precluded him from his duties. Most recently, Brian was working as a Valet at Delaware Park, where he excelled and made many friends.
Brian was a happy go lucky man. He was always the first person to try to brighten your day with a joke. He was caring and compassionate to all those around him but most of all he was generous. He would give the shirt off his back or his last dollar to someone he thought might need it. Even in his final act he sought to give to others through organ donation.
Brian was very devoted to his mom and dad. His big enjoyment was the Horse Races, playing the slots at (Harrah's, Dover Downs, Live and many in Atlantic City.
He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend whose kind spirit will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his parents, Charles J. and Bernice D. (Gralewski) Brittingham, Sr.; his siblings, Linda Brittingham (Andy), Charlie Brittingham, David Brittingham, Charlene Streb (Christopher) and Rene'e Giannattasio (Ronald); his nieces and nephews, Tara Streb, Steven Streb (Katie), Angela Lamborn, Ashley Giannattasio, Aaron Giannattasio, and Alexandrea Streb; and his great nieces and nephews, Jensen, Skyler, Dixie, Dolly, and Hank and his Uncle Joey and Uncle Jimmy and two special Aunts, Aunt Betty and Aunt Theresa. He is also survived by friends too numerous to name. He was also preceded in death by his beloved cat, Shakey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass for Brian on Saturday, Dec 28 at 12:00pm at Corpus Christi Church, 905 New Road, Wilm., DE, Friends may call at the church from 10:30-11:30. Interment will take place privately.

Where should I begin.. I saw you and those blue eyes, that smile, the way you dressed (Dapper) was your nickname. I fell for you instantly!! I had a 1 year old son and had quit school because I couldn't handle both. You took to him like he was your own and supported me going back to school and was there when I graduated night school. When my son Jeffrey started school until 9th grade Brian made sure my son had what he needed to begin the new year. New sneakers, school supplies etc. Also Brian's family took us in like we were part of the family and still till this day I still feel the same. Brian also showed me how a lady should be treated awesome dinner dates, Celebrating New Year's Eves in Atlantic City, hanging out at Delaware Park with friends and My favorite most of all was listening to the Moody blues, knowing all the songs word for word driving thru the Hills and going to all their concerts and listening to him sing. Beautiful voice he had. We had are ups and downs and after the we broke up years ago, I always thought maybe someday when the stars align we would maybe get together again He held a big part of my heart and always will. There is so much more I could say but I think I'll end on Rest In Paradise Brian and someday we will meet again. I'll always love you!!
