William's Story
William E. Brittingham, Jr., beloved son of Emma Lee Schoolfield and the late Willie Brittingham, was born January 26, 1952, in Pocomoke City, Maryland. He departed this life at the age of seventy-three (73) on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at home in the presence of his sister, niece, and nephew. He left this life as he lived - quietly, offering gentle reassurance to his family that "I'm alright."
William was educated in the Worcester County Public Schools. His passion was working with horses, and he worked with them until his last day. William was a son, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. William was a quiet, steady man who loved his horses and spending time with his sister. He loved animals and animals loved him, as Nemo and Javelin's Boy will surely miss him. He spent most of his time at the barn in Pocomoke with the horses, and connecting and working with others who loved horses like he did, including Barry White, Darryle Dennis, Beverly Fletcher, Michael Greene, and Rob White.
Family surviving to cherish special memories are: his mother, Emma Lee Schoolfield of Pocomoke City, Maryland; four brothers, Russell, Alonzo, Melvin and Willie; six sisters, Darlene, JoAnn Morris, Floretta, Pam, Shirley and Connie; four special nieces, Sasha (Jean) of Salisbury, Maryland, Michelle (Patrick) of Felton, Delaware, LaRhonda of Salisbury, Maryland and Lynaya (Luke) of Portland, Maine; three close nephews, Bryan Corbin of Salisbury, Maryland, Martece Brittingham of Ocean City, Maryland and Terron Morris of Pocomoke, Maryland; special cousins, Kelli Cropper, Kelly and Ejay Brittingham, brother-in-law, Alvin Morris and a host of other relatives and friends.
William was preceded in death by: his grandmother, Caroline Lane; father, Willie Brittingham; sister, Ella Mae Jones; brother, Troy Schoolfield and uncles, Nelson Cropper and William Cropper.
Lovingly Submitted,
The Family
