It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian M. Burke, who left us on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Brian was a man who never met a stranger, a larger-than-life personality whose infectious laughter and radiant presence lit up every room he entered. To know Brian was to be drawn into his world-full of adventure, warmth, and a contagious enthusiasm for life.
A proud and decorated US Army veteran, Brian devoted himself to serving his country with honor and distinction. After his military service, he went on to serve his community as a dedicated code enforcement officer and building code inspector, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and hard work.
Brian spent the last year working at Wildwood Roofing and Construction, where he was tremendously successful and greatly admired.
Brian's love for the outdoors was boundless. Whether it was camping under the stars, embarking on road trips out west, or cliff diving in the stunning Arizona landscape he cherished, Brian found peace and joy in nature's embrace. Arizona held a special place in his heart, and he reveled in its rugged beauty. He lived life with an adventurous spirit, always eager to explore new places and create lasting memories.
But above all, Brian's biggest gift was his heart. He had the most loving and generous nature, always putting others before himself. His compassion and kindness were felt by everyone who crossed his path. Whether as a friend, mentor, or family member, Brian's love was unwavering, and his impact on those around him was immeasurable.
Brian is survived by his family, friends, and countless others whose lives he touched with his incredible spirit. He will be remembered not only for his remarkable achievements but also for the love, laughter, and light he brought to the world.
Brian is survived by his Mother - Mary Arnold, Dad - John Arnold, Children - Austin (Avery Wirsching) Burke, Reilly (Philip Ahmad) Burke-Ivie, Wyatt Burke and Mother Crystal Burke, Siblings - Lorna Burke, Todd Wells, Grandchildren - Kuele Bleu Ivie, Roman Ahmad Ivie, Saint Glenn Ivie. He was a Nephew, Cousin, Friend, and Uncle to Gabriella and Olivia.
Brian was preceded in death by his Father - Robert Burke, and Sibling - Tyrone Burke.
A celebration of Brian's life will be held May 23, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Oak Street Inn & Lounge located at 5521 Oak St. in Cottleville, MO 63376. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Brian's name at AFSP.ORG

I´m saddened to hear about Brian. He was a great man, would do anything for anyone. Enjoyed life and I was able to spend some fun times with him earlier this year. My condolences to the entire Burke family.

Brian was my manger at Damon's Restaurant, back in the late ninety's until it closed in 2001 in Florissant Mo. Brian was truly one of a kind he could make anyone laugh and he made the atmosphere fun. I saw him a few times over the years, and he still had that grin on his face one that you can't forget if you truly knew him. I saw Brian about a half dozen times since 2016, and the last time in 2023 we laughed and remembered the past the only way he knew how laughing, and joking with me and being the same cool guy I always knew. Brian loved Rock N'Roll music like myself he loved the drums. He could tap any rock song on rhythm with his fingers. He was truly one of a kind.

Rest in Peace

Brian was one of the few students from my first class (as a teacher) who tried to stay in touch over the nearly 60 yrs. since we met in our Phoenix, AZ class. He never let small disagreements stand between us. He was a most generous soul who will be sorely missed by this old, retired teacher. Blessings & peace to his family for all the generosity he showed.
