Brian Patrick Callaghan of Waretown, a loving and devoted family man who touched the lives of all that knew him, passed away on January 5, 2026, after fiercely battling cancer for over three years.
Brian Callaghan entered this world on January 15, 1984, as a gift to his loving parents, Sharon and Patrick. Growing up in Forked River, Brian nurtured a deep affection for his hometown and developed a lifelong passion for the Yankees, Giants, Devils, and Notre Dame. His academic journey flourished at Lacey Township High School and Ramapo College, where he earned his degree in Accounting. Before diving into his accounting career, Brian briefly worked as a van driver, a role that serendipitously led him to meet his soulmate, Nicole. Brian's enthusiasm extended beyond his profession, as he found immense joy in fantasy sports, leading leagues with his signature style. As a true friend, Brian possessed a remarkable gift for offering wise advice precisely when it was needed. He embodied warmth and compassion combined with an unforgettable quick-witted sense of humor. He was always full of life and his signature laugh was contagious to all who were near.
Brian's heart was filled with love for his family, whom he cherished deeply. As a faithful husband to Nicole, a loving father to Makayla and Braiden, and a caring son, brother, uncle, and friend, Brian touched many lives with his kindness. Brian was preceded in death by Patrick Callaghan, his father, and William Anderson, his father in-law. He leaves behind his mother, Sharon Callaghan, mother in-law, Grace Anderson, siblings, Thomas Callaghan, Meghan Callaghan and her wife Jessica Ocampo-Callaghan, Kelly Maiellano and her husband Brian Maiellano, & brother in-law, Steve Anderson and his wife Stacy Anderson. His cherished nickname, "Uncle B," reflected the warmth and affection he shared with all of his nieces and nephews, Taylor, Brianna, Cailin, Reilly, and Liam Callaghan, Mia and Chloe Maiellano, Desmond Callaghan, & Austin and Brielle Anderson.
Brian's family and friends will remember him for his generous heart, infectious smile, and the countless memories they shared together. His legacy will live on through the love and inspiration he provided to all who knew him.
