Brian E. Carr, 50, of Manchester, passed away suddenly at Hackett Hill Health Care Center, on October 3, 2025.
He was born in Manchester, NH, on October 6th, 1974 to Edward F. Carr and Belinda M. (Driscoll) Carr.
He is survived by his mother, his sister, Rebecca Carr-Bennett, his nephews, Dylan and Trevor, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends that he considered as family.
He lived his entire life in the city of his birth, which he loved. He was a 1993 graduate of Memorial High School in Manchester, NH. He was one of the first disabled students mainstreamed in the Manchester, NH school system. He attended NH Community Technical College and received an associates degree in Human Services, class of 1995.
Brian’s first job was as a "Spookster" for a local Haunted Hayride. Anyone that knew Brian can appreciate how much he probably loved that job!
He made his career at Velcro USA in Manchester from 1995 - 2021 and worked there as a finisher. He took great pride in his work and was a very dedicated employee.
Brian was an inspiration to all of us, especially his relentlessness to remain independent. When Brian went into any room, he always had a big smile on his face, and everybody loved him. His lived his life with a positive attitude, despite his disabilities. His love and dedication to his family was fierce. He took his friendships very seriously as well. He was kindhearted and thoughtful. He loved God and was a devout member of several Christian churches throughout his life. He began attending the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Manchester in 1991 and served there as an usher and was in youth ministry for almost 20 years. In his later years he attended the First Baptist Church of Manchester with his mother.
Brian absolutely loved holiday gatherings with all his extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. As a young boy, he was truly one of the gang and would get into such shenanigans with those cousins! Throughout his adult life he still had a wonderful connection with all of his extended family.
Brian cherished memories of childhood vacations with his family and with his friends to Maine. He loved being outdoors and appreciated the beauty of the ocean and the mountains, frequenting Hampton Beach, the coast of Maine and the White Mountains. As an adult he still went to Hampton Beach often. The Sand Castle competitions and the Seafood Festivals were two of his favorite events there!
He loved music of all kinds and especially loved going to concerts with friends. Heavy metal was his favorite! Music, for Brian, was therapy. He also enjoyed a good coffee, a great beer, and milk chocolate.
He was very dedicated to his Irish heritage and St. Patricks Day was a day of great celebration for Brian! As his sister Becky says, every day was St. Patrick’s Day to Brian! His mom always cooked a traditional Irish meal of corned beef and cabbage and they would read the story of St. Patrick and dance to Ole Danny Boy. He would wear and collect cultural items to reflect the love of his Irish heritage and loved the music of the region as well.
Brian adored sports - especially basketball (Boston Celtics), football (Patriots) and baseball (Oakland A's). He also loved going to see the local team The Fisher Cats. He was a dedicated college football fan and his love was the Notre Dame Irish. He was a huge wrestle-mania fan as well!
Brian had a wonderful sense of humor which most likely came from his Dad. He could turn any situation into something funny. Brian loved comedy shows/movies.
He had a huge group of amazing friends that he kept in close contact with that stemmed all the way back to his childhood, from his work, and through the churches he attended. Whenever he visited with anyone he always made sure to ask how they were and how their family’s were. He always was thinking of others.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love you to consider a donation to the Easter Seals foundation. Not only was this organization key in helping Brian throughout his life, but he was chosen as the Easter Seals Poster Child in 1984. He also was recognized as the “Can Do Kid” for the 1985 Easter Seals telethon campaign! He continued to live his life with the “Can Do” philosophy! Additionally, Brian’s father worked for the Easter Seals organization for many years as a beloved bus driver.
A memorial gathering for Brian will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, with a service beginning at 10:30 AM, at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH.
