FALLS CHURCH, VA – Mr. Brian P. Chmura, 49, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022 in Danvers, MA. Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of Michael and Joanne (Ceriello) Chmura. Brian was the husband of Heather (Mulcahy) Chmura, with whom he celebrated 20 years of marriage, and he also is survived by their two children, Catherine (18) and Liam Chmura (16), of Falls Church, Va.
Brian went to high school at North Andover High School in North Andover, MA where he met his wife, Heather, in 1989. He resided in Northern Virginia for the past 26 years and raised his family in Falls Church, VA. Brian attended Wake Forest University in North Carolina where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. He went on to work in international telecommunications, for Verizon and Tata Communications.
Brian enjoyed cooking, entertaining friends and family, listening to music around the firepit, and most of all attending his children's sporting events. He adored his golden retriever, Lorenzo. Brian often could be found outside where he enjoyed doing yard work and taking care of his house. He loved to travel and experience new cultures throughout the world. He was at his happiest outside either at the beach watching sunsets and having the salt water in his hair or by the lake, especially Lake Winnipesaukee where he spent many years vacationing with family. Brian was an avid Wake Forest and New England sports fan and loved cheering on the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and occasionally the Capitals.
Brian loved his family dearly and was proud of his children and their accomplishments. He loved his friends, too, and will be sorely missed by dozens of school friends, Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity brothers, coworkers, acquaintances, and neighbors, who viewed him as a funny, kind, inquisitive, and intelligent confidant and giving friend.
In addition to his loving wife and children, Brian is survived by his adoring mother Joanne Chmura of Danvers, MA; his siblings Michael Chmura of Santa Fe, NM, and Christina Chmura of Peabody, MA; and nephews Nicholas and Zachary Chmura. Brian is preceded in death by his father Michael Chmura.
