Robert Meuse Obituary
PEABODY – Mr. Robert Donald Meuse, 101 of Peabody passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, at Brooksby Village Continuing Care in Peabody.
Born in Reading, Massachusetts, Robert, lovingly known as Sonny to family, was the son of the late Sylvain and Margaret (Boutchie) Muise. He was raised and educated in Reading, graduating from Reading High School.
He proudly served his country at age 21 in the United States Army Air Corps, as a B24 bomber pilot, flying 32 missions in WW2.
Upon his honorary discharge, he moved to California and embarked on a 34-year career as a quality control engineer for Hughes Aircraft.
He was a musical savant and played piano like a professional despite never taking lessons or being able to read music. His passion was the years he spent as an archival recording engineer for the San Jose Symphony in California.
He loved sailing, cars (especially his Porsche), engines of any kind and steam trains. In his later years he took a trip to China on a steam train tour and climbed the Great Wall.
Sonny had a deep thirst for knowledge and experience; he was highly intelligent and well respected throughout his life. He made many cherished friends in his life, especially Glenn Cardon, and kept in touch with them till the end.
He lived a wonderful life throughout his 101 years on earth, and his legacy will continue on in all the lives he touched.
Robert is survived by his loving nieces and nephews; Martha Santosuosso and her husband, Henry of Peabody, Matthew McSheehy and his wife, Janet of Reading, Mark McSheehy and his wife, Barbara of Wilmington, Cynthia Meuse of Reading and Suzanne Mitchell of Reading and numerous great nieces and nephews that he cherished deeply.
