Brian Richard Darlage, 54, of Columbus, passed away at 1:14 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana in Columbus.
Born January 5, 1969, in Jackson County, he was the son of Don and Judy (Akers) Darlage. He married Monica (Clark) Darlage on April 3, 1997, in Jennings County; she survives.
Brian graduated from Seymour High School in 1987. He worked at Cummins Engine Company in Walesboro for six months, as a truck driver for several years, including two years at Ferguson Trucking in Edinburgh, for Don Darlage Logging for several years, and as a school bus driver for Jennings County Schools for eight years. He was a member of St. John's Sauers Lutheran Church in Seymour and attended Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus. He was an I.U. Basketball fan and loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, mechanic work, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Monica Darlage of Columbus; parents, Don and Judy Darlage of Brownstown; sons, Braydon Howard and Hunter Darlage, both of Columbus; daughter, Cheyenne (Michael) Sullivan of Nixa, Missouri; sisters, Mary Ellen (Doug) Jaynes of Brownstown and Susan (Bart) Bevers of Seymour; grandchildren, Elliot Sullivan, Ison Sullivan, Sloane Sullivan, and Baker Sullivan, all of Nixa, Missouri; father and mother in-law, Larry and Beverly Clark of Dupont; brother and sister in-law, Scott and Sandra Clark of Madison; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Brian will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorial donations in honor of Brian may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana or to St. John's Sauers Lutheran Church or School.
