Allan Dale Hauersperger, 71, passed away at his Seymour home the morning of July 5, 2025, with his beloved wife Susan at his side. Allan was born in Seymour October 17, 1953 to the late Raymond Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Joan (Sinks) Hauersperger.
While at Seymour High School in the early 1970s, Allan was captain of the original high school swim team. He graduated in 1972 and went on to marry his sweetheart, Susan Banks, on February 29, 1980. Allan was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the VFW auxiliary, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He and Susan were members of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Allan loved to watch sports and was an avid fan of Indiana University basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. He loved fishing for catfish on Ken-Ray Lake in Bedford and the White River. He hunted squirrels, rabbits and deer and was famous for his homemade beef jerky. Allan loved gardening and was renowned for growing the best cherry tomatoes. He loved to cook, making delicious persimmon and kershaw squash pies, but his famous barbecue sauce recipe is a closely guarded family secret.
Allan is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Susan (Banks) Hauersperger; his children, Julie (Andy) Rueger, Rayna (Andy) Barr, Ryan (Danielle) Hauersperger, and Darin Hauersperger; grandchildren, Grace, Brock, and Emma Jo Rueger, Austin, Cameron (Laura-lei), and Bailey Barr, Amelia Wilson, Jayda and Leah Hauersperger, and Delany Hauersperger; and sisters, Barb (Bill) Ostdiek and Sally (Roger) Doyle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, listed above; grandchildren, Bryce Rueger and Jaxon Hauersperger; sisters, Beth Brackemyre and Julia Ann Hauersperger; and brothers, Gib and Fred Hauersperger.
