Brian Cecil Gray, 66, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on April 30, 2025.
Born on May 27, 1958, in Tallahassee to Marvin C. Gray and Louise "Jinka" Gray, Brian lived a life defined by dedication to family, hard work, and simple joys.
Brian spent much of his career in the construction and lumber industry, retiring from Romac Lumber in 2011.
He married Stefane Holtan of Perry, Florida, in 1996. Together, they shared many adventures, especially enjoying trips to the coast and scenic drives. Stefane preceded him in death in 2022.
A true outdoorsman, Brian was an avid fisherman and loved camping. His happiest times were those spent with his friends & family, especially his grandchildren. He never missed a chance to swap stories, watch westerns, or cheer on his grandkids' accomplishments-especially Ava's journey to become a teacher and Chase's growing talents in technology.
Brian is survived by his two daughters, Amanda Gray (and grandson Kevin) and Shannon Burlison (husband Chad, grandson Chase, and granddaughter Ava); his brothers David Gray (Syndi) and Darryle Gray (Leslie); and six beloved nieces and nephews: Chris, Scott, Brian, Allan, Taylor, and Jennifer.
Known for his big heart and gentle spirit, Brian will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warmth, laughter, and quiet strength leave a legacy that will live on in those who loved him.
A celebration of Brian's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend time with loved ones, go fishing, or watch a good western in his honor.
Breanna Green of Bevis Funeral Home (850-385-2193 or www.bevisfh.com) is assisting the family with their arrangements.
