Brian Matthew Hambrick, 37, died June 6, 2023. The third of four sons, he was born December 28, 1985, to Sue A. (Flynn) and the late Paul T. Hambrick, in Indianapolis.
Brian attended Our Lady of Lourdes and Scecina Memorial High Schools. Brian loved his family and his favorite way of showing it was through his love of cooking. When not working in various restaurants, he could be found in the kitchen of his childhood home, pouring himself into one dish or another for Sunday dinner with his family.
A man tormented by demons, Brian carried with him an enviable and pronounced faith in God and a sincere belief that a better tomorrow lies ahead. For Brian, who never quite found his fit here on Earth, that better tomorrow has begun.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Paul, his grandparents, James and Mary (Wilhelm) Hambrick and Robert and Frances (Sullivan) Flynn, and his uncles, Dennis, Robert, and Stephen Flynn. He is survived by his mother, Sue, his brothers, Jeremy, Andrew, and Chris, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Saturday, June 17, 11:00 AM, with gathering to begin one hour beforehand.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Brian's name to Our Lady of Lourdes School.

I'm Vance Greening, a friend of the Hambrick family since the late 1990's. In perhaps the winter of 2001-2002, we had a fairly significant snowstorm that steeped my mom's driveway in knee-deep snow, far west side of Indy, and of course the snowplows immediately and perforce built up a wall of ice and snow at her driveway entry, trying to clear the Speedway streets. Living near the Hambricks in Irvington, I was able to borrow Sue and Paul's big snowblower -- plus they added a husky Brian, to help me out. I barely knew him, but he cheerfully accompanied me, and he worked like a maniac on the driveway and city sidewalk, then joined me with a shovel, to break down the wall. Within maybe a half-hour, we had my mom freed to come and go. I have always held dear the memory of Brian's friendliness, his positive attitude, and his work ethic. I so hate to see him go; and I hate to see his family lose him.
