Brian Hendricks Obituary

Visit the Wichmann Funeral Home - Downtown Appleton website to view the full obituary.

Brian Hendricks, 62, of Appleton, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from complications following a fall and subsequent illness.

Born in Roswell, New Mexico, on April 30, 1963, to Larry “Don” and Donna, Brian grew up with a love for building, fixing, and creating. A skilled carpenter by trade, he took great pride in his craftsmanship and the lasting work he left behind. He graduated from Goddard High School in 1981. He met the love of his life, Debbie, while in college they were introduced by mutual friends at a party. They got married on April 29, 1995. In October of 1997, he and Debbie moved to Wisconsin, where they built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and family, raising two daughters, Carrie and Kristi together.

Brian loved being outdoors, especially when fishing or boating with his loved ones. Always ready for an adventure, he embraced life with positivity and made the best of every situation. His laugh was contagious, his spirit uplifting, and his energy endless. He poured his heart into serving others on mission trips to Ecuador, Peru, Burkina Faso in Africa, Mississippi, and North Dakota, using his skills and compassion to make a difference wherever he went.

More than anything, Brian loved spending time with his family. He deeply loved his wife, Debbie, and their daughters, Carrie and Kristi, who were the center of his world. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughters Carrie (Jonathan) Vajko and Kristi (Brian) Flunker; grandchildren Finnley and Penelope Vajko; mother Donna (Jim) Landfair; sister Mishawn Leadingham (Bill Lamb); and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry “Don” Hendricks, and his grandparents.

Whether working with his hands, sharing a laugh, or exploring new places, Brian lived fully and gave generously, leaving a legacy of love, joy, and kindness.

A special thank you to the ThedaCare ICU team, especially nurses Tabi and Jen, for their compassionate care. We are also deeply grateful to Scott Ross and Dave Ansorge for their support.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6th, from 3 to 5 pm at Richeson Art Gallery in Kimberly, Wisconsin, and on Saturday, September 13th, at 5 pm in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting our family through our Meal Train. We are so grateful for your compassion and generosity to our family during this time.
