He was predeceased by his parents, John R. and Phyliss (nee Krzastek) Hilla; and one brother, John R. Hilla, Jr.; and his canine companion, Arlo.
He is survived by his sister, Linda A. Dandorf; a niece, Maureen Shepherd; a nephew, Ryan Hilla; a great-niece, Carly Shepherd; and a great-nephew, Owen Shepherd.
Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Memorial Mass at 11:30 am on Friday, June 9, 2023 at St. Paul R.C. Church, 124 Union Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07011. Please Meet at Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box P, Manasquan, NJ 08736, www.cancer.org. Visit www.bizubquinlan.com to leave a condolence to the family on the Tribute Wall section of the obituary.
