Brian Houston Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nie Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. - Liberty Road Chapel on Jan. 4, 2022.
Brian "Truck" Jeffery Houston was born February 13, 1960, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Joseph Lamb Houston Sr. and Josephine Marie (Ramsey) Houston. Brian was one of eight children and they resided in Roseville, Michigan. Brian attended Edgewood Elementary, Burton Junior High and graduated from Roseville High School.
Brian was a well-rounded child. He enjoyed playing with his siblings and friends; from playing kickball to riding bikes. All the boys acquired their father's knack for creating and Brian enjoyed working with wood. He took a wood shop class in High School where he created beautiful pieces. Brian was also very athletic. He played football and basketball, but he truly enjoyed baseball. He had an awesome pitching arm. We will never forget the time he pitched his first "No Hitter," and how extremely proud and excited we were for him.
Like his brothers, Brian worked for their father at U.S. Chemical. He started off doing odd jobs around the facility and eventually became a semi-truck driver, transporting chemicals to various companies. Brian later moved to Dickson, Tennessee working for Jenko Construction Company for about six years before moving on to a worldwide manufacturing company, A.O. Smith for 15 years. Later in life, Brian dedicated himself to the religion he was born and raised in. He became a faithful and dedicated servant of Jehovah and his organization. His greatest joy was his preaching work (like mother like son) and bringing his daughter into the truth. Brian put Jehovah first above all, no matter who or what the circumstances were, he loved his Heavenly Father dearly.
In Brian's free time he enjoyed helping all those in need of help, as the Bible presents. A few of his favorite hobbies were working on cars, whistling, listening to jazz, cutting grass, drinking coffee and growing a garden. He spent most of his last years bonding with his daughter and teaching her, as he would put it, "how to pull the bull by the straps." However, not a day went by without him telling her that he loved her and that she did not have to worry about anything. He expressed his love for his daughter, as she did, and this is what he said: "You know when Jehovah made you he didn't use a mold, he made you from the love that is in his heart, this way you would always be unique. There is no one else walking this planet like you. I always feel the love that he created with you."
Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine (Ramsey) Houston; his sister, Sharon Houston; and his brothers, Gary Houston, Jovan Houston, and Brandon Banks.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Britnie Houston; his cat, Jessie; his brothers, Joseph Houston Jr., Wesley (Lorraine) Houston, and Joshua Houston; his sisters, Cheryl Houston and Natalie (Houston) Henderson; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
