Brian Christopher Jenkins

Brian Christopher Jenkins, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 15, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Brian was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on March 27, 1967. Brian grew up in Mineral Wells in the Sharon Park neighborhood until the age of nine when he moved to Weatherford where he lived most of his life. Brian served as an altar boy for many years with Father John Nagle at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Brian attended Millsap schools, graduating from Millsap High School in 1985.
Brian loved sports. In his younger days he could often be found playing basketball with friends at city parks and at the Fort Wolters Base gym. Brian worked for Kroger at the Weatherford and Fort Worth locations for 25 years. He made several life-long friends there, including one of his best friends, Chris Martinez. Brian has spent the last 12 years with MidAir AC & Heating in Saginaw, working as an HVAC Technician. He made more dear friends here and loved working with his boss and friend, Kenny Brooks.
Brian loved watching sports; he was what some might call a fanatic. He loved supporting his Notre Dame teams-you could always count on a few "Here come the Irish" or "Hail, hail to old Notre Dame!" when they were playing. He was an old-school Celtics fan and cherished his Celtics memorabilia, especially anything Larry Byrd. Brian enjoyed country music; the good stuff like Alabama, George Strait and Alan Jackson. He was a darn good dancer in his high school days. Brian loved listening to sports talk radio and watching the Andy Griffith show.
But Brian's great passion was family; he was a loyal son, supportive and loving brother and the best uncle ever! Brian was a devoted son to his parents, W.L. and Katherine, caring for both of them for many years. Brian took care of his mother, Kate, until she moved to a nursing facility and then he continued to care for her and visit her almost daily until her death in 2020.
Brian loved to spoil his nieces and nephew and was their biggest fan in all their endeavors; whether sports, school activities or piano recitals. Brian was the loudest one cheering from the stands when Addison, Rylee, Carter or Averi was playing a sport. He just loved spending time with them; they brought him an enormous amount of joy. Brian was lovingly nick-named "Uncle Pushover", because the kids knew that he would always spoil them and he made a point to create special memories out of every day activities like overnight visits with movie nights, staying at a hotel just to swim, fishing at the Ranch, trips to Wal-Mart or getting donuts on the weekends.
We were all so very happy for Brian when he finally found the love of his life, Sherry, three years ago. Sherry instantly became a part of our family and we know how much she loved and cared for Brian and how happy he was to have her in his life. Sherry was such a blessing to Brian.
Anyone who knew Brian knew he had a big heart. He could be ornery and stubborn, but he was a big softy with a tender heart. He was goofy, a little crazy and loud, but full of compassion and love for his family, friends and his cats (Freckles and Smokey).
Brian was preceded in death by his father, W. L. Jenkins and his mother, Katherine Jenkins. He is survived by his girlfriend, Sherry McKee; his brother and best friend, Jamie Jenkins and wife Stephanie of Post, Texas; his sister Melissa (Lisa) Thatcher and husband Dan of Murphy, Texas; his sister Tyra Lynch and husband John of Santo, Texas; his nieces Chelsea McKinney, Addison Jenkins, Rylee Jenkins, Averi Jenkins and nephew Carter Strehl; great nephew and nieces, Brendan, Caylee and Makayla; as well as his extended family and an abundance of friends. We will all miss him more than words can say.
Visitation will be held at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner funeral Home, 302 W. Hubbard St., Mineral Wells, Texas, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 6 pm-8 pm. Mass and funeral service will be Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 10 am (Rosary at 9:45) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 108 NW 4th Ave., Mineral Wells, Texas. Burial will be directly after at Dodson Prairie Cemetery, 2525 Lake Creek Rd., Gordon, Texas.
