Brian Thomas Kenny
[September 7, 1954] - [March 11, 2024]
Atlantic City, New Jersey - Narragansett, Rhode Island
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Thomas Kenny, who peacefully departed from this world on the morning of Monday, March 11th surrounded by his family in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Brian was born on September 7th, 1954 in Atlantic City Hospital where he began his journey through life.
Brian led a vibrant and joyous life, filled with moments of delight, love, and strength. He navigated through various stages of life with resilience and determination, especially with his battle with cancer. Brian was born to Thomas and Jean Kenny, and was a cherished sibling to his elder brother Michael and younger brother John. He found profound happiness in his marriage of 40 years to his adored wife, Colleen, and together they created a loving family with two sons, Brendan and Kieran.
Professionally, Brian achieved leadership positions, most recently at the Ocean State Job Lot in Middletown, Rhode Island. His educational journey was marked by Hastings High School, as well as attending Mercy College and Brockport State. Brian made significant contributions to coaching youth sports, especially when his sons were of school-age. Everyone could always find Brian by football or baseball fields, or basketball courts. In his leisure time, he pursued making memories at the dog park with his beloved dogs, visiting local restaurants, listening to music, traveling with his wife, camping in the Catskills, and playing professional squash.
Brian is survived by his wife, Colleen, sons Brendan and Kieran, brothers, Michael and John, as well as his nieces, Caitlin and Michelle, nephew, Sean, sister-in-law, Alice, and numerous loved relatives, including the large Gurn clan. He formed deep bonds with numerous friends and colleagues who will forever cherish his memories, including the Baers and friends from local pubs and parks. Brian's kindness, generosity, and humor left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him. His smile could light up rooms, and his laughter could make you feel warm inside. His legacy of an easygoing attitude will continue through the values he instilled in others, and the positive impact he had on his friends, family, and the community.
Visitation and a service to honor Brian's life will be held on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Visitation will take place from 4 to 6 pm, and service immediately after at 6 pm.
Flowers can be addressed to the Kenny Family and sent to Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home. Please join us after the service in a gathering to celebrate Brian's life at his favorite local pub, Twin Willows. We invite anyone who knew him to attend and remember his wonderful life. Donations can be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation in honor of Brian's five-year battle, as well as to Hope Health Hospice. For further information or to offer condolences, please contact Brendan at (401) 932-6670.
As we bid farewell to Brian, we are so grateful for the time we shared and the memories we hold dear to our hearts. Brian's spirit will live on in our hearts, guiding us with love, wisdom and laughter. Brian will be deeply missed but remembered fondly by the countless relationships he made and lives he touched. We love you, Brian.

I worked with Brian at Ocean state job lot in Middletown Ri. I grew very close with Brian often times working solely side by side.. one of the last things he said to me 1/28 four my leave of absence for the month of February" When you first came, no one expected you to last, but you did improving each year you have stayed when others left and I´m proud of you" each time he would come back he would shake my hand, and I would ask him is today a good day he would ask me the same. Was very fun of my wife and children, When I returned to work, yes today 3/13 they told me it was not until closing time. It really hit me. My condolences to the family and sympathy. He will be missed greatly, and I´m glad I got the chance to know him.
