Brian Keith Merrick, 63, husband of Melinda Wright Merrick, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025, at Baptist Health Lexington. Keith was born on June 1, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Wilbern G. Merrick and the late Mary Lucas Merrick. He was a member of the Edgewood Baptist Church in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He is survived by his loving wife, Melinda, his father, Wilbern, sister, Margaret Carol Merrick, nephew, Joshua Honican, niece, Macie Hatfield (Kane) Tackett, two brothers-in-law and their wives, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Wright, and Mike Wright and sister-in- law and her husband, Gwen (Tim) Hatfield, mother-in-law, Billie Jean Wright. Besides his mother, Mary, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jerry Wright. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Edgewood Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Gray officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 5-8:00 PM, at Betts & West Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM, June 5, 2025, at the Newsome-Wright Cemetery in Dorton, Kentucky. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Wright, Kenneth Wright, Joshua Honican, Tim Hatfield, Kane Tackett, and Mark Merrick.
