Brian O'Keefe passed away peacefully with his family at his side on October 16, 2022. Brian was born and raised in Inwood, in northern Manhattan, NYC, where he graduated from Bishop Dubois High School. In 1963 Brian took a huge leap and headed west to attend St. Michael's College (later the College of Santa Fe). Falling in love with his new home town, he never left. Following college, he was employed with the New Mexico Highway Department, now the Department of Transportation, and became a skilled labor negotiator.

In Santa Fe, Brian met a Texas farm girl, Glenda Quebe, and the two were married on July 3, 1977. Their lives were filled with friends, various much beloved dogs, fishing, golf, two full careers, and, of course, family. Brian and Glenda never had their own children but "Uncle Brian" held a very special place in his nephews' and nieces' hearts and was willing to help all of them in any way he could. In recent years Brian became very close with his two grandnieces in Santa Fe who always loved to watch cartoon movies with him, eat his spaghetti, make silly jokes, and who knew that a trip to Uncle Brian's always involved lots of treats. His sense of humor was legendary and will be missed by the family.

In addition to his devotion to his friends and family, after retirement Brian was a very active member of the Santa Fe Country Club, where he served on the board for several terms, as the Board President, and even stepped in as the Club's General Manager during a very difficult time. Both Brian and Glenda loved the Country Club and the friends they made there.

Brian's laugh, stories, and that gleam in his eye will be missed. We smile knowing he is reunited with Glenda.

Brian was also preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Francis O'Keefe, sister Brenda, brother Kevin O'Keefe and his wife Patricia, sister-in-law Barbara O'Keefe, and brother-in-law Tom Parmer. He will be missed by his brother Sean O'Keefe, brother William O'Keefe and his wife Geraldine, his sister Maura and her husband Kevin McLoughlin, his sister-in-law Myra Parmer, his brother-in-law Glen Quebe and his wife Tommie, and his nine nieces and nephews and their children.

A memorial for friends and family will be held at the Santa Fe County Club on November 4th at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Food Depot.
