Brian Scott Parisher

Brian Scott Parisher, age 59, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 16th, 2023 after a 16 month battle with brain cancer.
Funeral service will be at Carlisle Funeral Home on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steve Herring officiating.
Brian was born on April 18, 1964 in Tarboro, NC to Phyllis and Joseph Parisher. He was the youngest of four brothers who shared a close bond with each other and could often be found on a ball field. Brian graduated from Tarboro High School in 1982 and married his high school sweetheart in 1987. Brian devoted 36 years to Nash General Hospital/UNC Rex as a Database Administrator. After work Brian could be found coaching baseball at Tarboro High, alongside his son, and football at North Edgecombe, alongside his brother. Brian's love of sports was evident in the way he coached. Not only did he teach people how to play the game, more importantly, he taught them how to be a good person on and off the field. Brian was selfless and often provided rides to and from practice or equipment when needed. In the evenings his family enjoyed challenging others during Jeopardy but Brian could easily outdo everyone. Brian cherished time with his family more than anything. His dad was his hero and his boys were his pride and joy. Brian was his wife's protector and her biggest supporter. Brian's greatest joy was becoming 'Pops' to Rhett and Ruby. His heart was bigger than most and he leaves behind a legacy beyond his years and his memory will always be cherished.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Davona Lawson, his sons Jacob (Breanna), Zachary, and his beloved grandchildren Joseph 'Rhett' and Ruby Grace. It should be mentioned that Brian thought of Breanna as the daughter he never had and it was evident by the trash talk between the two. He is also survived by his mother Phyllis and brothers Tony (Dana), Keith 'Hotdog' (Deborah), Tracy (Sue) and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Parisher.
Visitation will be at Carlisle Funeral Home on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 12:30 - 2:00 PM.
