Brian Sabo Obituary

BRIAN DAVID SABO
July 10, 1957 – March 13, 2024
Brian passed from this life in the late evening hours of Wednesday March 13th after a valiant and lengthy struggle with Parkinson's Disease and Congestive Heart Failure. He was at home with his two best friends by his side.
Mr. Sabo was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey as the son of Mr. Bertalan and Mrs. Phyllis Sabo. Growing up in Woodbridge, he attended St. James grammar school and Woodbridge High School. He also graduated from Paul Smith's College in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY with an Associates degree in Forestry and Forest Engineering. In 1978 he relocated to Newhall California following a group of his close friends.
Brian's interests were varied and great. He was an active Boy Scout achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, had back-packed a large portion of the Appalachian Trail and always loved camping and the out doors. He was interested in wood-working, metal work and rock-hounding, SCUBA diving and sailing, as well as having a keen interest in photography. Brian usually spent any leftover time tinkering out in his shop, working on home improvement projects or artsy creations that he would often gift to others.
For a career path, Brian chose to become a commercial and industrial plumber and started his own company. He was licensed and certified for fire sprinklers, swimming pools, chemical piping systems and more. He was a certified welder and was a creative fabricator and troubleshooter who could always find a way in a difficult job. He was good at what he did and was proud of it.
Brian was friendly to all and willing to be the first to say hello and spark up a conversation. He was always ready, willing and able to lend a hand to help others and rarely asked for anything in return. He absolutely loved kids and had a big and giving heart. He always carried with him a sense of humor which he retained until the very end. He never gave up hope and always had a positive attitude and looked forward to every new day. He had a childhood nickname that stuck throughout his whole life and to many he was known as "Bonz". And Bonz always had a "Brian Story" to tell...
Brian leaves behind 2 sisters; Mary Warner in Michigan and Elena Faiello, his loving twin, residing with her husband in New Jersey. Also 2 step-daughters; Addrienne Brambila of Newhall, California and Nathalie Shevloff Pace currently in Colorado. Also missing him is a group of friends and neighbors, near and afar, that loved him dearly. And finally Freida, his constant and faithful canine companion of 17 years.
His favorite quote: "Never deprive someone of hope. It might be all that they have..."

I met Brian around 15 years ago through a Meetup hiking group on a group campout. We immediately became friends. I stayed in contact with him because i saw what a good person and man that he was. We had a lot of fun Camping , cooking and even working on projects together. Even to his last days, he was concerned with some issues that I was going through. Ill never forget that. He will be enormously missed by me.

Dear Brian,

As I reflect on the past five years, I'm filled with gratitude for the moments we've shared, both joyful and challenging. From the highs to the lows, you've been a constant source of support and friendship. I want to express my heartfelt thanks for always being there when I needed a friend, ready to lend a helping hand with any project, big or small.

Our time together holds countless cherished memories for me. From our laid-back evenings enjoying cocktails and BBQs to our intense games of rummy tile, each moment spent with you has been special. And let's not forget your unwavering love for dessert, always the perfect way to top off our evenings!

Your generosity and caring nature have never ceased to amaze me. You've always approached life with kindness, never uttering a harsh word or showing anger. You truly are an exceptional person, and I feel privileged to have had you as a friend. Your presence will be deeply missed, and I will carry the memories of our time together in my heart always.

With gratitude and fondness,
Leslie

Last night, we came together to celebrate your life, surrounded by your closest family and friends. As we shared memories and stories, it became abundantly clear just how deeply you touched the lives of those around you. I listened to tales of your kindness, your humor, and your unwavering positivity, and it was evident that you were truly loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing you.

It was a beautiful reminder of the impact you had on this world, and how your presence brought joy and warmth to so many hearts. Though the pain of your absence lingers, your spirit lives on in the fond memories and the love that surrounds us. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts, dear friend.

We met at a meet-up and I was lucky enough to sit across from him at the restaurant. I remember him being very sarcastic and he had a smile on his face all night.

I am saddened to hear the passing of Brian. He was a neighbor of mine growing up. I was fortunate to spend time with Brian and another neighbor Greg afew years ago. It was great seeing these guys after over forty years.
Brian was the same caring, positive person l remembered as a kid. Brian will remembered for his easy going personality and love of the outdoors.

Doing a full front flip into my spa which was on the side of the hill. Also, once doing a 10 mile hike we saw what appeared to be an alien spacecraft. It was silent and hovered over us momentarily. Bonz, you are missed. Glad you made the reunion. Peace and love

Every day I thank God, that I´ve been blessed having you in my life. Not only were you my (twin) brother, but my very best friend.we always laughed and yes we cried. We always had this unconditional love for each other. My heart is broken .I didn´t know what sadness was until I lost you.
But I´ll take comfort and I´ll smile "my love" knowing that you´ll be driving that new black pickup through the clouds of heaven. Just do me a favor, don´t forget to BEEP....
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU XX
