Brian Michael Sardeson, 51, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at IU Health White Memorial in Monticello, Indiana.
Brian was born on January 22, 1974, in La Porte, IN, to Lynda L. (Schultz) Sardeson and John H. Sardeson Jr.
Surviving are his child, Ashley of La Porte; grandson, Aiden Baker; mother, Lynda Sardeson of La Porte; father and stepmother, John and Patty Sardeson of Michigan City; brother, Eric Sardeson of Indianapolis; stepbrothers, Aaron and Mark Richardson; stepsister, Robin Richardson; extended family, Dylan and Camrin Matthews and Crue and Coen, Trevor and Jordyn Matthews and Mason, Helen (Matthews) and Cody Enochs and Emma, Jacob, Jameson, and Zander; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilbur and Helen Schultz and John and Vivian Sardeson.
Brian graduated from New Prairie High School. Later, he attended Purdue University receiving two Bachelor of Science degrees. Brian proudly served his country in the Army Reserve and National Guard. He was a technical specialist doing IT work for the Major Projects Department, electrical side, of NiSource in Valparaiso, IN. Brian is a life member of the VFW, The Forty and Eight, and DAV. Brian enjoyed Lego building, computer games, and spending time with his family. He also did various volunteer work that served his community, national disaster recovery, and international mission work. Brian always put others before himself, evidenced by his final act as a tissue and organ donor.
A private burial with Military Honors will take place at Patton Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at La Porte Missionary Church, with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the family at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, c/o John Sardeson, 2900 Monroe Street., La Porte, IN 46350 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
