Brian Sitton Obituary

Visit the Salazar Funeral Homes & Crematory - Reflections Chapel website to view the full obituary.

Brian Scott Sitton left this world far too soon on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the place he proudly called home.

He was preceded in death by his father James Michael Sitton.

Brian is survived by his beloved wife Jeanette Sitton (Bailey); stepdaughters: Ashley Contreras; her children: Adiena, Jadon; Mariah Griego; her sons: Giovanni, Monse, who lovingly called Brian “Pop Pop"; mother Joyce Love Sitton; brother Eric Michael Sitton and fiancée Shukura Irwin, along with Eric’s children: Jeremy, Amelia, Victoria; sister Cheryl Ann Coyle (Sitton) her spouse, James Coyle, their children: Anthony (who considered his uncle his Superman), Kaitlyn, and Dakota.

Born on August 16, 1972, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Brian lived a vibrant, memorable life shaped by adventure, generosity, humor, and a fearless spirit that touched countless people.

Growing up under the wide New Mexico sky, Brian developed an early love for the outdoors. What began as skateboarding down sun-drenched streets as a boy grew into a lifelong enthusiasm for snowboarding, where he carved through fresh powder with joy, confidence, and his signature no-fear, adventurous spirit.

Brian built a career grounded in hard work, creativity, and an entrepreneurial spirit. After high school, he worked at Vail Ski Resort and later at Ski Santa Fe, embracing the mountain lifestyle he loved. He also pursued several small-business ventures over the years, a testament to his resourcefulness, drive, and willingness to pursue new opportunities. He went on to become a telecommunications lineman, mastering tough, hands-on work, before transitioning into prop construction for the film industry, where he became a proud member of IATSE Local 480.

Brain was also a devoted Denver Broncos fan; he rarely missed a game, and he cherished the camaraderie of fantasy football with family and friends. Whether spending time with his family, his many many friends, or relaxing with his loyal dogs, Lola, Diamond, and Irish. Brian found joy in the people, connections, and simple moments that mattered most.

Brian’s purpose in life was simple yet profound: to make others laugh and lift their spirits. His humor was a beacon of light, his kindness unwavering, and his company unforgettable. He will be remembered as fearless and strong-willed, stubborn at times, but always funny, loyal, and full of heart, with a devil-may-care attitude, and full of boundless energy that made life brighter for those around him.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

Brian’s Life Celebration will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 10:00am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Brian will be laid to rest at 11:30am at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, 87102.

Pallbearers will be Eric Sitton, Anthony Pelot, Jim Coyle, Jeremy Sitton, Pat Tingen, Kyle Gormally, and Larry Francia.
