Brian West Obituary

Brian was born March 4,1979 in Malvern. He was a 1997 graduate of Benton High School and attended Henderson State University before graduating Summa Cum Laude from Louisiana Tech University in 2002. Brian was a kind and caring Christian man who loved his family and all people. An accomplished educator, Brian taught Spanish at Benton High School for over 20 years. He also coached the school's Quiz Bowl team and was very proud of the students who participated and had multiple championship teams. Of all the accomplishments Brian had in his life his proudest was being a father to his boys.
Brian will be missed everyday by his sons, Mateo and Gabriel West, of Benton; mother Karen West, of Benton; brother and wife Jeremy West (Mirissa) and their children Adelaide, Penelope, and Oliver, of Rogers; the mother of his children, Christina; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration and remembrance was held Tuesday, August 8th at Hurricane Lake Baptist Church.

He was such a sweet heart. I was in his Spanish class a few years ago and he always listened to his students when they were struggling. It hurt my heart to find out he was taken so soon. My prayers will go out to him and his family. You will be missed Mr. Oeste.
