Bridget Carson

Bridget Carson, a spirited adventurer and creative soul, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, at her home in Mount Prospect, having been born in Chicago on November 14, 1924. Known for her passion for life, Bridget was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her dynamic personality and zest for living fully.
Bridget's memory is cherished by her loving children, David Sommerfeld, Ellen (Kenneth Smith) Hanson, and Robert Sommerfeld, who stood by her as a testament to her unwavering love and guidance. She was a doting grandmother to Nicholas, Samuel, Daniel and his wife Tara, Robert James Jr. (AKA R.J.) and his fiance Erika, Danielle and her husband Tommy, and Jillian, as well as a proud great-grandmother to William, Hannah, Sunny, Luna, and Hunter.
From arranging intricate Japanese flowers to enjoying a competitive round of golf or tennis, and from practicing Tai Chi to traveling the globe, Bridget's adventurous spirit knew no bounds. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Irwin Sommerfeld, her mother, Anne Pellegrino, and brother, James Pellegrino.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Matz Mt Prospect Funeral Chapel, located at 410 E Rand Rd, Mt Prospect IL, 60056. A service led by Deacon Bill Gibbons will begin at 11:30 AM.
