Brinda Starritt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Inc. - Madisonville on Apr. 4, 2025.
Brinda Sue Starritt, age 68, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, departed this world on March 27, 2025. The second eldest of four children, Brinda was born in Chicago, IL, to Barney "Hoot" Starritt and Gwen Welch Starritt. Though she lived most of her life in her family's hometown of Sweetwater, TN, she had a courageous and adventurous spirit and loved to travel. Family oriented, Brinda's life revolved around her great love and partner of nearly a decade, Cindy Hatton, and their son, Richard "Joe" Cutler. Possessing a contradictory nature, Brinda was strong-willed and tough, but also an independent thinker who was known for her love of animals and music. She was also deeply loyal to and protective of loved ones, having an "open door policy" to friends and family, no matter the circumstances. While she passed away at Tennova Knoxville Medical Center in Farragut, TN from respiratory failure, her generosity of spirit continues through her organ donation, as she has already saved two lives and will doubtlessly help more. She is survived by her son, Richard Joseph Cutler; mother, Gwen Welch Starritt; nephew, Johnny Goshen and his wife, Catherine; niece, Sheena Devine and her husband, Andy; and niece, Brandi Starritt and her life partner, Scott Stewart. Brinda is also survived by Sheena's children, Colton and Cobie Garren; as well as Cobie's wife, Heather Garren and their child, Wrenly; and Brandi's children, Briana Starritt and Macie and Zayden Stewart. Additionally, she is survived by special cousin, Teresa Hughes, and friends Kim Johnson and Ramsey Lethcoe. Brinda was preceded in death by her father, Barney "Hoot" Starritt; siblings Sandra Starritt Goshen (as well as Sandra's husband, John Goshen), Michael Starritt, and Karen Starritt; and life partner, Cynthia L. Hatton. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Brinda, please visit our floral store.
