Thomas Anderson Starritt III (T.A.), 77, of Fernley, Nevada, formerly of Ada, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on January 31, 2026.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Rosedale Cemetery, with Evangelist Carl M. Johnson officiating.

T.A. was born on May 15, 1948, in New Orleans, to Thomas A. Starritt II and Emily Francis Gadel Starritt. He graduated from Ada High School in 1966 and later earned his bachelor's degree from East Central University.

In 1971, he was drafted into the United States Navy, where he faithfully served his country for 20 years until his retirement in 1991 as a Senior Chief and Assistant Maintenance Technician. During his distinguished military career, he served in both Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. His commendations include the National Defense Service Medal (second award), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (fifth award), Meritorious Unit Commendation, M16 Marksman, .38 caliber Sharpshooter, and the Fifth Good Conduct Award for the period ending February 8, 1991.

Beyond his military service, T.A. enjoyed playing pool, cheering on OU football and OU softball, and most of all, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his love of country.

He is survived by his three sons, Adam Starritt; Benjamin Starritt and wife Candice; and Chris Adams; two daughters, Emily Hurt and husband Jerry II, and Tawny Starritt and husband Randy; the mother of his daughters, Janie Driskill; the mother of his sons, Lee Adams; brother-in-law K. Tinker Johnsons and wife Kay; sisters-in-law Romaine Adams and Carol Davis and husband Skip; grandchildren Jerry Hurt III and wife Kayla, Kohl Salviejo, Brianna Salviejo, Logan Starritt, and Ava Starritt; and great-grandchildren Liam Hurt and Louis Hurt; along with many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas A. Starritt II and Emily Francis Gadel Starritt, and his granddaughter, Kaylee Hurt.

T.A.'s legacy of service, strength, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
