Brittney Barr Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center & Cemetery on Apr. 17, 2025.
Brittney Lee Barr, known affectionately as Brittney to her friends and family, passed away on April 17, 2025, in her hometown of Evansville, Indiana. Born on August 27, 1987, in the same close-knit community, Brittney's vibrant spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her.
Brittney's journey through life was one marked by devotion to her family, a passion for music, and a love for the open road. Her mother, Karen Longest, predeceased her, but Brittney's legacy continues through her beloved fiancé, Matthew Klingelhoefer, with whom she shared a loving partnership of 18 years. Together, they raised two wonderful children, McKenzie and Justin Barr, who were the center of Brittney's world. She was a cherished sister to Shawn Barr and his girlfriend, Andrea Greenwell, and a valued member of the Powell family, including her mother and father-in-law, Mike and Brenda Powell, as well as her sister-in-law, Crystal Stephens, and her husband, Nathan, and brother-in-law, Alan Davidson, with his wife, Whitney.
Brittney's professional life was as spirited and community-focused as she was. She delivered joy, quite literally, as a pizza delivery driver for Papa Johns, where she was known for her punctuality and warm smile. Her work was more than a job; it was an opportunity to connect with her community and spread a little happiness, one delivery at a time.
A woman of many interests, Brittney's love for music was profound. She was an avid fan of artists like Upchurch and Jelly Roll, attending two Upchurch concerts just last year, where she sang along to every song with unbridled enthusiasm. Her passion for music was a source of joy and inspiration, creating cherished memories for her and her family.
Brittney's love for her family was paralleled by her love for cars, especially the iconic '67 Chevy Impala from the television show Supernatural. She was in the process of rebuilding a Lexus, pouring her heart and soul into the restoration with the same care and attention she gave to every aspect of her life.
Her nurturing spirit led her to pursue a career in nursing, driven by a desire to care for others as she did for her own family. Brittney's dedication to her children's education and well-being was unwavering, and she worked tirelessly to provide them with a strong foundation of love and support.
Brittney's life was a testament to the power of love, the joy of music, and the strength of family bonds. Her radiant smile and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we say goodbye to Brittney Lee Barr, we celebrate the indelible mark she left on our hearts and the beautiful memories she created, which will be cherished forever.

I just can not believe this. You were an old soul. You loved hard your beliefs never wavered, your music was your utmost zen along with nature's best. You were real with people and they may of liked it or not , but I admired you for that. And you were a good mother and they were special needs. Times were hard but you would make the best of it. I love you dear cousin and I will miss you deeply.
