Brittney Blake Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Memorial Park, and Crematory on Jul. 25, 2025.
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Brittney Lou Blake, age 36, of Northport, Alabama, who left this world on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on June 28, 1989, Brittney brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.

Brittney was the beloved daughter of Tana Latham, stepdaughter of Byron Latham, and daughter of Brian Blake.

Brittney is survived by her siblings, Connor Latham and Madison Blake; her dear cousins Lauren Rhoton, Chip Jones, and many others.

She shared a special bond with her dear friend Reid Jackson.

She was the loving granddaughter of Ron & Kitty Rainey, Jerry and Marlene Blake, and Angela Maze and the late Sammy Maze.

She is also lovingly remembered by her aunts, Susan Maze Rex (Guy), Pam South (Rick), Suzanne Dunbar (Scott), and the late Vickey Havnar; and by her uncles, Scott Blake and Barry Latham (Sheela)-all of whom held special places in her life and heart.

A proud graduate of Northridge High School, Class of 2007, Brittney earned her LPN certification from Shelton State Community College and built a meaningful career in healthcare. From dermatology to dental care, she was devoted to her patients, who sensed the compassion behind every interaction.

Brittney's artistic soul found expression in drawing and painting landscapes. Her creativity knew no bounds. She had a natural ability to lift spirits, and one of her greatest joys was the companionship of her beloved furry friend, Lou Lou.

Those who knew Brittney will remember her as someone who touched hearts deeply-whose kindness, laughter, and joy brought light to all around her. As her friends lovingly said, "You never left Brittney without a smile."

The memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church Chapel, Tuscaloosa, on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will follow.

My heart is filled with only happy memories of our sweet niece, Brittney. I loved when I answered the phone and that little southern voice said, "Hi, Aunt Pam"
She always shared what was going on in her life since we lived so far away. She loved her friends and family and often told me heartwarming stories about them all. No matter what was going on she faced it with courage, spunk and a smile. She was truly an inspiration for us all. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was not shy about sharing it with others. My heart hurts for those of us left behind but I know she is in awesome hands and will watch over us all until we are together again.
Heaven has another angel, more special than ever and she´s gonna shake things up a bit. Love you Brittney Lou. Your Aunt Pam and Uncle Rick love you forever.

Brittney was a ray of sunshine lifting me up after the loss of my daughter Holly; and then we shared many hugs, talks and laughter when we "ran into each other" at the cemetery following the loss of her Grandad Sammy; which broke her heart
To know Brittany was to know a loving soul and light in this world.
My heart aches especially for you Tana mom to mom/ please know I´m a message away!! Love you and will be praying for you!
