Brooke Ann (Swapp) Freeze passed away on February 19, 2025, having honorably fulfilled her earthly mission. She returned in glory to her Father in Heaven. She was a beloved friend, daughter, sister, wife, mother, and a dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her loving husband Matthew Freeze and her son Arthur William Freeze, as well as her parents Terry and Ramona Swapp and her siblings Makenna (Zachary) Boorman, Renee (Jason) Noorda, and Troy Swapp. She was preceded in her death by her grandparents Marvin and Ethel Guernsey, Ray and Luticia Swapp, and her brother Spencer Swapp. They have had a joyous reunion.
Brooke was born on May 4th, 1995 in
Provo, Utah to Terry and Ramona Swapp. She was the first child and was loved and admired by her family. Each of them enjoyed spending time with their sister Brooky. She did sewing projects with her Mom, played Clash of Clans with her dad, exercised with Makenna, went hiking with Renee, and travelled with Troy. She graduated from Springville High School and continued her education at Utah Valley University, earning a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. Brooke loved learning and also pursued an education in technology by completing a coding camp at Devmountain.
Brooke was well known for her work ethic, often working a second job on evenings or weekends. She worked as a waitress and a caterer at several restaurants and as a writer. She eventually pursued a career as a Technical Support Engineer.
Brooke had a natural eye for fashion and loved all things classy. Throughout her life, she accumulated many dresses, outfits, and shoes. She was also a skilled makeup artist. As a talented musician, she loved to play the cello. She played in the Utah Valley Youth Symphony, performing locally, on the west coast, and in Europe. She had the opportunity to play once with the Utah Symphony. This sparked her love of travelling. She visited many countries, including Canada, England, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Greece, and San Marino. She enjoyed trips to various National Parks and Disneyland.
In January of 2021, Brooke met the love of her life, Matt Freeze. They were engaged that July and were married for time and all eternity on September 3rd, 2021 at the Temple in Payson, Utah. She loved him very much, and was always happier when she was with him. He completed her in ways that were obvious to her friends and family. Brooke always believed that he was worth the wait. Together they traveled, adopted pets (mostly against Matt's will), and played World of Warcraft.
Anyone who knew Brooke, knew that she loved small furry animals, especially cats and bunnies. The pets she had included, but are not limited to Wishy the goldfish (whose lifespan far exceeded her parents expectations), her bunnies Timothy and Frederick, and her cats Harley, Harvey, Mayor McCheese, and Officer Big Mac. She also rescued and rehomed several stray kittens.
Brooke loved being active and often tried new things. Throughout her life, she played volleyball, soccer, basketball, ran cross country, and jumped hurdles. She also competed in power lifting and even learned to race in the skeleton event. These new things also included projects she was working on, such as restoring a hope chest and reconstructing the mantle around her fireplace. She even enjoyed a few welding lessons from her dad. She had a green thumb and grew lots of plants in her garden, including herbs, strawberries, tomatoes, and catnip for her many cats.
Brooke loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and was a committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She benefited greatly from the message of healing and hope taught by the gospel. This faith gave her strength and confidence as she faced adversities throughout her life. She was an example of faith to everyone around her. Thanks to the atonement and resurrection of Christ, we know that we will see Brooke again.
Her last great accomplishment was giving birth to her son Arthur. She was very excited to be a mom. Above all else, she wanted Arthur to know that "Mommy loves him". Arthur is very blessed to have such a wonderful mom and dad.
Memorial Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 2445 Timpview Drive,
Provo, UT, 84604 on Friday, February 28, 2025. A viewing will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. The funeral services will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. All who wish to celebrate the amazing life of Brooke Freeze are invited to attend.
