Sarah Kathleen (Sally) Rockey was born in Alliance on April 25, 1941; the third of three children of Hugh and Bess (Butler) O'Connor. She passed away on May 30, 2025 at Bickford Senior Living in Lincoln. David Bruce Rockey was born in Hemingford on July 21, 1935; the second of five sons of Dale and Alice (Planansky) Rockey. He passed away on April 24, 2025 at Bickford Senior Living in Lincoln. Bruce and Sally were married on August 4, 1959, and lived in various communities; Chadron, Arthur, Lewellen, Kearney, Alliance and Hastings. Along the way, no matter where, they were active; from chaperoning school functions to volunteering at church, and from supporting service organizations to traveling with or hosting family and friends. They cherished family time and catching up with friends from every stage of their lives and loved making new acquaintances. They are survived by their son Brian (Dawn) and grandson Gus of Lincoln; Dawn's parents Don and Jan Egenberger of Lincoln; Bruce's brothers Mike (Wendy) of Oklahoma City, OK; John (Loretta) of Harrisonville, MO; and Tom (Sandy) of Olathe, KS; sister in-law Nellie O'Connor of Lincoln, as well as dozens of extended family members from coast to coast. They were preceded in death by their parents, daughter Stacy, Bruce's brother Jim (Col. US Army retired) and his wife Deanie of Virginia, Sally's sister and husband Betty and Mike Manning, and her brother Frank O'Connor. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. August 4 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Alliance, with inurnment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
