Bruce Biltz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home on Dec. 17, 2025.
Bruce Lee Biltz of Pierceton, Indiana passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the age of 71. Rooted in Kosciusko County his entire life, he was dedicated to his family and simply enjoyed spending time with those he loved.

He was born on June 24, 1954, in Warsaw, Indiana to Jo Ellen (Bonewitz) Whiley and John Biltz. Bruce was a 1972 graduate of Whitko High School in South Whitley. On May 22, 1976, he married Cheryl Lynn Hutchison, and they were blessed with 49 years of marriage together.

Always mechanically inclined, he attended Lincoln Technical School and received his certification as a mechanic for diesel and high-performance engines. A hard-working and reliable man his entire life he worked for Indiana Department of Transportation. Bruce spent 20 years as one of INDOT's mechanics and 10 years as the foreman, retiring in 2019. During his time at INDOT, he also worked for Woody Everly and Sons Trucking Inc. for a number of years building late model race cars.

Bruce found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman, seizing every opportunity to cast a line, regardless of the season-from summer's warm waters to winter's ice…he loved every minute. He also cherished the many wonderful hours spent practicing archery with his boys.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Cheryl Lynn Biltz (Pierceton, IN); and two sons, Brandon Biltz (Warsaw, IN); Seth (Angie) Biltz (Pierceton, IN). He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Morgan, Brandon Jr., Kaitlyn, Callie, Bennett and Liam; as well as his sister, Linda (Greg) Davis (Winona Lake, IN). He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Steve Biltz.

Bruce's life will be celebrated privately by his family, thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.

Memorial donations in Bruce's memory may be directed to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, 1048 S. 325 W., Pierceton, IN 46562.
