Bruce Cortner Obituary
Mr. Bruce Allen Cortner was born December 23, 1962, in Nashville, Tennessee. This fruitful life came to an end on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at his residence in Nashville, Tennessee after a long battle with kidney disease.
Bruce was educated in the Nashville Davidson County public schools. He felt a need at an early age to become a Christian, so he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.
Bruce was employed in the Hospitality Industry for many years. He was a lover of music, an avid football fan and loved reading the word of God.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Cortner, sisters, Barbara L. Johnson, Celester Banks, and his brother Zab L. Cortner and son DeShawn Banks.
Bruce leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Lakenya Banks, step-daughter, Lanitra Graham, grandchildren, Meyana, Martez, Marlaysia Banks, sisters, Ethel Cortner, Claudia Harris, and Denean Cortner, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, devoted friend, Errick “Meathead” Baxter.
