Bruce Allen Gillette departed this life peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 30, 2024. Bruce was born on August 5, 1952; the son of Oliver Gillette and Cora S. Clark, both of Aurora. As a child he was into fun and mischief and that continued into adulthood. He graduated from Aurora West High School in 1970 after which he joined the United States Marine Corp. He continued his career as a Journeyman Machinist for the Burlington Northern Railroad until injury forced him to retire in 1994. Bruce was a lifelong member of the Aurora Turners Club where he spent the first Sunday of every month cooking breakfast for its members.

Bruce married Judith (nee Evans) and had his daughter Michelle Marie. But as sometimes happens their paths diverged and he eventually married Margaret (nee Bender). They were blessed with two more children, Carrie Anne and Matthew Robert.

Bruce is survived by his three children Michelle (Robert) Booker, Mathew (Nicole) Gillette and Carrie (Kyle) Gruca; Grandchildren, Madyson, Jakob, Hailie, Lilee, Jaxon, Ryann, Austyn, Granddogs LuLu and BonBon and his many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Sandwich Illinois Moose Lodge, 1002 East Church Street, on October 5, 2024 from 1-5p.m. Donations can be made in Bruce’s honor to your local animal shelter.

Arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.beveragefamilyfh.com
