Bruce W. Hagfors, age 93 of Litchfield, MN died on Friday October 4, 2024 at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins, MN. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday October 15, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. A burial will be held at the Minnesota State Veteran Cemetery near Camp Ripley in Little Falls, MN.
Bruce Waldo Hagfors, the son of Ted and Bertha (Anderson) Hagfors was born on May 11, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Edison High school in 1949. He enlisted into the Marines on January 15, 1952 and went through bootcamp in San Diego, CA. On May 24, 1952, he was united in marriage to Patricia Kluk in Hollywood, CA when he was stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA. Over the years they lived in Cambridge, MN where they farmed. They later moved to Sauk Centre and Bertha, before moving to Litchfield in 2012. Bruce was a telephone technician for 30 years with Northwestern Bell and US West and also farmed for 31 years. He was a Boy Scout leader in the 1960’s and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He often gave the advice, “Don’t ever get old” and enjoyed scroll woodworking, leather carving, traveling, camping, hiking in the mountains, farming, and playing the organ and piano.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of Litchfield, MN; children Douglas (Penny) Hagfors of Braham, MN, Duane (Kathy) Hagfors of Brook Park, MN, Denis Hagfors of Sauk Centre, MN, Diane Erickson of Burtrum, MN and Julie (Curtis) Weiers of Maple Lake, MN; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; brother Gordon (Kathy) Hagfors of Sioux Falls, SD; and sister Marlene (Norm) Miller of Baxter, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Bertha; grandchildren Daniel, Nathaniel and Stephanie Hagfors; siblings Warren, Harold, Curtis, and Ronald.
