Bruce Klage, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 9, 2025, in Inverness, Illinois. Bruce, born on May 12, 1940, in Chicago Illinois, was the beloved son of Clarence and Norma Klage.

He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Georganne Klage (nee Stephens) and devoted father of Mark (Kathy) Klage, Beth (George) Milner and Robin (Bryce) Erker-Edwards. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Ashley (Adam) White, Rebecca (Brandon) Murchison, Erin Klage, Megan (James) Fell, Elizabeth (Jake) Miller, Griffin (Bri) Edwards, Allison Klage, Jessica Milner and great-grandson Christopher Fell. Bruce is also survived by his sister Nancy (the late Jack) Spearing and sister-in-law Dianne (Dave) Schultz as well as many other family and friends.

Bruce was a dedicated father and family man, teaching his children and grandchildren the love of fishing and the beauty of the outdoors. They spent many years in northern Wisconsin at the family cabin along the Menominee River. He is famous for his many humorous stories and sitting around the campfire telling his grandchildren about the Menominous Monster. After his marriage to Georganne in April 1964, they returned home from their honeymoon in New Orleans with a new family member. To everyone's surprise it was an alligator that they named Alexander. He took up residence in their apartment bathtub. As time passed, Alexander was donated to a local zoo. This was just the beginning of Bruce and Georganne's love of animals. Bruce was an active handball player and gardener. He took an active role in the YMCA's Indian Guides and Princesses with his children as they were growing up, going on numerous campouts and events.

In 1963, he enlisted in the US Army Reserves and served as a medical technician for six years at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. Bruce was a third-generation stamp maker, working at Ace Stamp Works in Chicago. The family-owned business of marking devices was founded in 1929 by his grandfather, Charles Klage. Bruce took over the business from his father Clarence in 1994 and ran it until it was sold in 2006.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th at 11:00 am, with a memorial service beginning at 12:00 at the Northern Illinois Funeral Services, 31632 N. Ellis Drive, Volo, IL.
