Bruce Ream Obituary

Bruce "Bub/Bubba" Wayne Ream, 79, of Washington Court House, Ohio, took his final drive on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Bruce was born January 25, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio to the late Paul and Irene (Mortensen) Ream.

He attended Clark Junior High School until the family moved to Washington Court House, his freshman year. He graduated from Washington High School in 1964 and Jackson School of Drafting after high school. He was employed by Huntington National Bank, formally Washington Savings Bank, for 25 years, where he worked his way up to Vice President. While employed by Huntington National Bank, he was a member of the Bank Administration Institute and the Washington Court House Rotary Club. Bruce then worked at C-Mold Plastic Injection Molding, where he retired in 2009, after 15 years of employment. After his retirement, Bruce worked alongside Bruce Butler, restoring classic cars and was a self-proclaimed "Transportation Specialist" for Doug Marine.

Bruce attended St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church. Bruce was a devoted family man, handyman, and a dear friend to many. His love of classic cars, especially all things Mopar, knew no boundaries. His passion for his '64 Dodge, "Mo", and his Dodge Magnum was matched only by his love for his family and friends. Known for his kind heart, contagious smile, and being a "gentle giant", Bruce was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a Blue Lion Hall of Fame inductee in 2007, alongside his dad Paul and brother Brian, for their 30 plus years of services to the Blue Lion Athletic Programs. Bruce was also a member of the Mopar Muscle Club International, the Dragin' Angels Car Club, as well as the Miami Valley Mopar Club. Supporting Bruce's love of classic cars, they cruised to car shows across the Midwest, where Bruce and Vicki made lifelong friends and made lasting memories. Bruce was active with the Guys of '64, meeting monthly for food, laughter and friendship. Aside from classic cars, and car shows, Bruce's second love was camping with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his sister, Kari L. Ream and his in-laws, Tranquillo and Regina (Ging) DelPonte.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, of almost 59 years, Vicki DelPonte Ream, whom he married February 4, 1967; his 2 daughters, Julie Ream and Trina (Chris) Owings, Granddaughter; Alyssa (JJ) Owings Mckenzie, Great Grandchildren; Oliver and Violet Mckenzie, sister; Kay (Art) Beil, brother; Brian (Becky) Ream, brothers in law; Tony DelPonte, and, Jerry (Cherie) DelPonte, sister in law; Ann (Chuck) Winkle, Aunt; Joan Mortensen, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as, a host of lifelong friends.

Visitation will be held at Summers Funeral Home, 223 W. Market Street, Washington Court House, Ohio, Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm where friends and family are encouraged to share their favorite stories and car show memories. A Rosary service will be held at 3pm following the gathering of loved ones. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11:00am, at St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church, 219 South North Street, Washington Court House, Ohio, with the Rev, Father C.M. Haddad officiating. Burial at St. Colman Cemetery will be determined, at a later date, at the discretion of the family.

As a last act of kindness, Bruce was an organ and tissue donor for Lifeline of Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church, 219 South North Street, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160; or Heartland Hospice-Fayette County Branch, 208 North Fayette Street, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160; or
